Parallel Frequency is the latest project from Nigel McLaughlin, a Melbourne Australia based artist. He has an extensive background in live performance — primarily World Music.

Nigel studied Orchestral and Electronic music composition at Canberra School of Music (ANU) under Professor Larry Sitsky and David Worral.

This gave him a solid grounding in composition, analogue music construction and algorithmic composition.

Moving into live performance, Nigel played in many local Canberra bands, most notably Katyusha — an up-tempo pub band playing a blend of Irish, Russian and Scandinavian tunes in a style similar to The Pogues.

Once in Melbourne he formed Bizerka which focused exclusively on Eastern European music such as Serbian, Croatian, Romanian and Russian.

He is now exploring the sonic possibilities of EDM and looks to bring you experimental but danceable music that fluidly moves across genres and blend digital and analogue sounds into one cohesive experience.
